On the markets at midmorning (ET):The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index was up 11.57 points to 15,186.38, after 90 minutes of trading.In New York, the Dow Jones industrial average gained 5.84 points to 21,643.58. The S&P 500 index added 2.17 points to 2,461.44 and the Nasdaq composite index climbed 5.06 points to 6,317.52The Canadian dollar was trading at 79.08 cents US, up from Friday’s average price of 78.91 cents US.The August crude contract was down five cents to US$46.49 per barrel and the August natural gas contract was up five cents to US$3.03 per mmBTU.The August gold contract was up $5.00 to US$1,232.50 an ounce and the September copper contract was up five cents at US$2.74 a pound.
