South Africa has launched a number of plans focusing to make India its biggest tourism source market expecting five lakh Indian travellers by 2020.South Africa Country Manager, Hanneli Slabber said, “We are consistently increasing our marketing spends in India. We expect about 12% growth in arrivals this year. South Africa is working with airlines to improve connectivity, and also on delivery on home ground to improve the travel experience for Indians.”South African Airways (SAA) will add several more destinations in India within the coming month, following the launch of a new codeshare partnership with Etihad and Jet Airways. SAA will re-route its Indian flights through Abu Dhabi, allowing passengers to continue onwards to India with either Etihad or Jet. This will also increase SAA’s footprint in India, adding new services to Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai.The new immigration policy also announced which now allows business executives from BRICS nations to get a visa up to 10 years depending on the validity of the passport and an extended validity for intra-company work permits. To facilitate the visa process, it has also added seven more centres in India.
